Our Mission
The mission of the Detroit Restaurant & Lodging Association is to lead the hospitality industry in Detroit through advocacy, education and innovation.
History
The Detroit Restaurant Association (DRA) was formed in 2017 as a local chapter of the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association (MRLA), previously the Michigan Restaurant Association. Tasked with representing the local interests of the nearly 1,000 restaurants operating in Michigan’s largest city, we joined the state association in the fall of 2018 and transitioned to the Detroit Restaurant & Lodging Association.
Our industry plays an integral role in Michigan's economy, employing more than 435,000 people and creating $40 billion in annual sales statewide, with over 11,000 employees and $686 million in sales from Detroit.
